History
Located in historic Mullica Hill, Free To Be Me Childcare and Learning Center was founded by Patricia Reed-Perry in 1975 to provide early childhood education programs and worry-free care for children living in Harrison Township and the surrounding areas. Celebrating more than 30 years of quality service, Free To Be Me was voted three times as “Best Preschool in Gloucester County.”

Meet a Few of Our Staff
Patricia Reed Perry, Founder and Consultant
Pat established Free To Be Me in 1975 to provide local children and their parents with an affordable, quality pre-school and daycare option. Her focus was to be dedicated to offering children a warm and caring environment that fosters learning and creativity. Pat holds a Master’s in Education from Widener University and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). In February 2008, upon her retirement, John Crescenzi became the new owner and President of Free To Be Me. He continues the traditions that have been established and respected throughout the community.

John holds a BA is Psychology from Temple University. John is at the center daily overseeing the needs of the staff members and classrooms. John supports local community and children’s activities. And with his children, has been involved with both Girl and Boy Scouts of America, Little League, Cheer and his local church’s CCD program.
Ann Datz, Executive Director and Teacher
As a teacher with the preschool since 1980, Ann became the Executive Director in 1993. Ann works directly with John to oversee all aspects of the school, including curriculum development, state certifications, skills’ testing and parent/teacher conference oversight. During the school year, Ann joins other staff members in teaching the morning preschool program. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Glassboro State College.
